Info:
- Babar Azam did fail for Colombo Strikers in the first game, but he is a class batter and will be keen to come out on the park and deliver for the side. Babar is our pick for Colombo's top batter.
- Dinesh Chandimal has been one of the most consistent batters in LPL, with over 800 runs. Kandy will be hugely dependent on him, so we are backing him to top score for B-Love Kandy.
- The spinners will get a lot of help from the surface and B-Love Kandy have one of the best in business, Wanindu Hasaranga. He is our top choice for Kandy’s top wicket-taker.
Live Streaming:
TV Channels: The tournament will be available on Star Sports 3 in India.
Live Streaming: Live streaming of the match will be available on the Fancode app and website.
Weather & Pitch Report:
Weather: ⛅
The weather will be cloudy with the temperature ranging between 31 and 27 degrees. There is a small 10 per cent chance of rain too.
Pitch: 🏟️
The pitch is low and slow and batting won’t be the easiest task until the batter spends some time at the wicket and gets used to the pace and bounce.
Toss Prediction:
Chasing looks tough here as the pitch gets slower as the match progresses. With good spinners in both teams, the captain winning the toss should bat.
Team NEWS:
BLK Team News:
Kandy had a brilliant run last season but they failed to reach the final. With multiple match winners in the team, B-Love Kandy are one of the favourites to win the LPL 2023. There are doubts over the availability of Fakhar Zaman who is part of Global T20 Canada. There are reports that Suresh Raina is also part of the team, but we are not sure about his availability.
CS Team News:
Colombo Strikers suffered a huge defeat in the first game. The team has experienced players like Babar Azam and Niroshan Dickwella in the team and they should keep the team in good spirits. The Strikers are a good side and well capable to bounce back strong in the next game. Chris Lynn and David Miller are still unlikely to be available due to their commitments in Canada T20 League and Major League Cricket respectively. Iftikhar Ahmed and Angelo Perera are the few players who can get a game.

Winning Chances:
It will be a close game for sure but B-love Kandy looks a more balanced team. They have experienced Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Matthews in batting while Wanindu Hasaranga and Mujeeb ur Rahman are two quality spinners. Colombo Strikers’ batting looks more or less about Babar Azam, Pathum Nissanka and Niroshan Dickwella and the team lacks depth in batting. For us, B-Love Kandy will start as favourites.
BLK vs CS Key Players:
B-Love Kandy
Wanindu Hasaranga
Wanindu Hasaranga will have to pull out a staggering performance for his team. Hasaranga is one of the best spinners going around and has taken 197 wickets in T20 matches.
Mujeeb ur Rahman
Mujeeb ur Rahman will also be key for Kandy. The spinner has created a repo of a T20 specialist and has lived up to the same as well. Mujeeb has taken 217 wickets in T20 matches at an average of 23 and an economy of less than 7.
Dinesh Chandimal
The experienced batter will be key in the middle order. Chandimal is the third-highest run scorer in LPL with 810 runs to his name.
Colombo Strikers
Niroshan Dickwella
Niroshan Dickwella led from the front and kept Strikers in the hunt in a tall chase. The southpaw scored a sublime half-century and put the team in a strong position before his wicket triggered a collapse and the team lost its way.
Babar Azam
Babar Azam did get out early in the opening clash but dare you to doubt his abilities with the bat. Babar will be hungry to get back on the field and play a good knock for his team.
Naseem Shah
Naseem Shah started well with the new ball and got some decent movement. Wickets with the new ball are a possibility and Naseem will be looking to exploit the fresh conditions and get a few early wickets for his team.
