ESS Team News:Essex Eagles have recorded a victory and a defeat in their two opening games of the 2022 Vitality Blast. They began the campaign with a 4 wicket win over the 2021 Champions Kent Spitfires before losing by 6 wickets (DLS) to Somerset in Taunton on Sunday. The Eagles weren’t at their best against Somerset although Matthew Critchley impressed with 60 runs from 38 balls including eight boundaries. With the ball, captain Simon Harmer was the standout performer and took 2-22 from his 4 overs.
HAM Team News:
Hampshire Hawks have had a disappointing start to the T20 Blast this season with two narrow defeats against Middlesex and Somerset, both at home at the Ageas Bowl. After being put in to bat first against Somerset, the Hawks could only post 123 with James Fuller top scoring with 42 runs from 28 balls at number seven. Although the required run-rate was very hard to limit Somerset to, Hampshire did take regular wickets and they did have a sniff of victory with the visitors at 89-5.
